On Friday we ran a full disaster recovery test for a University client of ours. We look after their web server environment consisting of 5 servers which are Microsot SQL backed. This was an example of how DR testing exercises should be carried out as we not only invoked their virtual recovery platform but their DNS provider swapped their live site over to the recovered platform and ran from it for most of the day.  At 9.03am we invoked the recovery, at 9.27am they were running on their recovered system and at 4.55pm the test ended and they failed back to their platform.  This University knows that should they have an IT disaster, in 24 minutes they will be productive again. This is how quickly disaster recovery can act with automated Pre-recovery from Plan B.
