Disaster Recovery Services available from 1 August 2016
Plan B’s Recovery Services are now available on the public sector buying framework, G-Cloud. The G-Cloud framework was created by the UK Government as an initiative to ease procurement by UK public sector bodies, and promote innovation and efficiency. Plan B already works with public sector customers including Reading Borough Council and Town and Country Housing, and believes its latest expansion of Disaster Recovery services is ideally suited to the public sector.
“Plan B’s difference is that we offer a range of technologies which enables customers to have a blended DR approach”, says Ian Daly, Director of Plan B. “Because we specialise only in DR, we can harness the potential of best of breed technologies, and add our unrivalled fully managed service and automated daily testing regime to offer better protection of IT systems. We can meet public sector needs more closely, ensuring that they achieve their desired functionality and service level requirements within allocated budgets”
Plan B, a DR vendor with their own proprietory technology, remains to this day the only company to offer a money-back guarantee of immediate recovery success. “Being able to recover customers as quickly and reliably as we can can took years of development. We needed to automate the entire recovery and testing process, as we believe the only way to guarantee recovery success is to test recovery systems every day. We are the only company to perform a full recovery of customers’ systems in advance of a failure, which is how we can guarantee recovery success -it has already been proven to work” says Ian. “Now, we are seeing demand for reduced data loss, and simpler failback. Utilising Zerto’s continuous replication we can apply our unique service and money-back recovery guarantees, but also offer near-zero data loss and simple, automated failback.”
In addition, Plan B offers back-up services using Veeam, and can build a bespoke solution for customers with self-managed and fully managed options around its technologies. “We have options for physical, virtual, critical and non-critical services, with support levels to fit” says Ian. “We always discuss a range of options with each customer to ensure we are recommending the right solution for them. It’s no longer about making the solution fit the services available, but making the services fit the need”.
